Downtown Burj Dubai is set to become the emirate’s most upmarket community. But residents of the only phase to be completed were feeling alienated as the rest of the development was still a construction site.

Property developer Emaar decided to hold a barbecue to promote community spirit - but the question was, how could it get 1,500 people together to get acquainted with their neighbours?

The answer was a door drop campaign by Wunderman ME, in which personalised door hangers that could also be worn as name tags at the party were mailed out to all residents. This sparked a great response, with more than 900 of the 1,500 confirming their attendance, resulting in a successful event.
