M&C Saatchi 'Renovation Party' direct mail campaign
Author: Directory
Date: 28 November 2011
When the team at M&C Saatchi, Auckland, moved to a new office, they recycled fittings from their old office to create a unique set of invites to their moving in party.
The agency had been unable to host any meetings for two months so it was a way of saying thank you to clients as well as creating a sense of excitement about the renovations.
The idea was to send out bits of the old agency offices, which had been demolished, along with the line ‘This is the last you’ll ever see of our old offices’ and an invitation to the event. Old light-fittings, ceiling tiles, bits of carpet, curtain rails and even parts of the old air-conditioning system were used.
The results were fantastic. 35 invitations were mailed out and 50 clients turned up. The party was scheduled to finish at 7pm but the last client didn’t get into a taxi until 1am.
