It's a competitive market for UK broadband providers. They're engaged in a constant battle for a piece of the action.

But what makes consumers decide to go with one company over another? And how are providers choosing to communicate their offers? Read fast.MAP's report from December 2010.

Key findings include:

  • 8% of internet users are not happy with their current supplier and are planning to switch.
  • More than 50% are interested in hearing about new products or prices.
  • Consumers most likely to be seeking to change their broadband supplier are men aged under 24, with 85% considering switching.
  • Consumers received direct mail from all the major digital service providers between September and November 2010.
  • When asked how useful they found it, on average just over 5% found the information informative, but 11% found Virgin Media’s and Sky’s informative and BT's 10%.
