ADCO direct mail case study

German firm ADCO, which makes and rents out mobile toilets, wanted to send a mailer to construction site managers and events organisers to remind them to make sure their workers and audiences are well provided for.

Agency Jahns and Friend came up with a mail campaign that centred on showing recipients how to prevent ‘wildpinklers’ – the name Germans give to people who answer calls of nature in the wild. The mailing contained amusing stickers to help deliver the message that they could get rid of the problem by ordering ADCO toilets.

This entertaining, low-cost campaign added value to the company’s image, winning lots of positive feedback from the target audience – and it showed that SMEs don’t need to use the might of TV broadcasting to get their message across.
