Belgacom 'Google Earth' direct mail case study

Date: 03 October 2011
Belgacom created a personalised direct mail package featuring Google Earth images to show how easy it is to find information on the internet.
The Belgian telecoms provider had briefed its ad agency, Famous Brussels, to come up with a surprising and relevant way to promote a new internet package aimed at residents without an internet connection.
Using data from Google Earth and digital print, they created an attention-grabbing mailer which showed a detailed satellite image of the recipient's home.
Around 157,000 people received mailings showing their house circled, accompanied by the message "You can get internet at home for 10 euros a month".
