Dialogue Ireland case study

Author: Patrick Collister, Directory
Date: 18 December 2009

One direct marketing services agency is spending its way out of recession by sending a beautiful B2B direct mailer to businesses in the United States. Dialogue Ireland used the story of Irish monk Saint Brendan, who is said to have reached America centuries before Columbus, to show US firms that Ireland was the ideal entry zone into Europe.

Dialogue targeted the mail pack, which consisted of hand-carved stones and a booklet, at 200 marketing directors of medium to large US companies. The message was simple – in the same way that Saint Brendan made the voyage of exploration to the Americas, an Irish agency could help US companies make the return journey to Europe.

While it’s too early for campaign results, Dialogue has already been invited to tender for a major loyalty programme by a Houston-based multinational.
