Sky TV New Zealand needed a cost-effective way to recruit new customers in addition to using telemarketing and door-to-door sales.
Agency Rapp Collins produced an attention-grabbing creative which resulted in response rates that were more than 250% above expectations for addressed direct mail and nearly 1,000% more than anticipated for unaddressed mail.
So what was so special about this mailing? It took the form of a ticket stub from one of the well-known ticket agents (Ticketmaster) and offered front row seats to forthcoming sporting events, rock concerts and the latest film releases, for free or half price. It was so successful that Sky TV rolled out the campaign nationally.
