A huge number of people take out cover for their animal companions, making pet insurance big business in the UK. But what does this target group think of direct mail and what makes them more likely to open their post? This MMC report provides a concise picture of their attitudes to the mail that lands on their doormat, to reveal key marketing opportunities. Key insights include:

• 77% of people with pet insurance welcome mail if it contains useful information.

• 60% prefer to receive paper bills and statements rather than access them online.

• 56% will not open mail if it’s not properly addressed to them.

• 45% say they often keep printed brochures/leaflets to read at their leisure.
