Welcome to the Mintel Travel presentation –  August 2011.

Within this presentation we explore the key findings from the Mintel Oxygen reports highlighting consumer behaviour and attitudes towards holidays and exploring the external issues affecting this industry.

These key findings are then linked to the Mintel Inspire trends to give an outlook on where the market is heading for future analysis and opportunities.

Key findings include:

• Younger adults (16-24 and 25-34-year-olds), those in the ABC1 socio-economic groups, Londoners, those that choose independent holidays and high earners are the most likely to book holidays abroad online.

• Almost a fifth of consumers have travelled beyond Europe on holiday during the past 12 months

• 25% have booked a holiday in the last 3 months
