Author: Valassis
Date: 10 September 2008
This 2008 report from coupon expert Valassis highlights all 2007's key industry trends in the UK's £20bn coupon market, which has seen a 20% increase in coupon redemption from 2006 to 2007.
Other key findings include:
• 54% of coupons distributed via direct mail in 2007 carried a unique identifier, enabling recipients' purchases to be tracked.
• An increase in targeted door-drop activity.
• Newspapers and magazines have made greater use of coupons to encourage readership and cross-promotion with sister titles.
• Pubs and restaurants began issuing coupons in 2007 to drive customer footfall following the smoking ban.
The report also explains how to set the ‘offer value’ to maximise consumer engagement in different categories, and looks at the impact and use of coupons distributed via the internet.
