Interactive services – acceptable use policy

This policy applies to any and all content that is sent, knowingly received, uploaded, downloaded, used or re-used as part of any interactive service ('contributions'). You must comply with the spirit of this policy as well as the letter. This policy applies to each part of any contribution as well as to its whole.

All contributions must be accurate (where they state facts); and comply with applicable law in the UK and in any country from which they are posted.

Contributions must not in any way be liable to mislead others or otherwise be detrimental to or inconsistent with the good name or reputation of Royal Mail. They should also not contain any material which is defamatory – a defamatory comment is one that that is capable of damaging the reputation of another person or organisation. Additionally, contributions must not contain any material which is harassing, threatening, obscene, offensive, hateful, abusive or inflammatory; which depicts, directs or incites violence to anyone; is of a religious or political nature; promotes any illegal activity; promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; or contains swearing or other words which might offend others.

Contributions must not contain any content that you have copied from someone else or which infringes the copyright, database right, trade mark, privacy or other proprietary right of someone else. Additionally contributions must not contain personal information, including your address, email address, telephone number, etc; contain any advertising; be made in breach of any legal duty, such as a contractual duty or duty of confidence; or in any way be used to impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity.

You own the copyright in any contributions that you make.  However, in order to permit us to feature your contributions on the website, you grant MMC a perpetual, royalty-free, sublicenseable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and perform all contributions that you make to the website.  You also agree to waive any moral rights in your contribution.

Royal Mail will determine, at its discretion, whether there has been a breach of any of the rules above, which may lead to the suspension or cancellation of your registration for this website.
