Dogs Trust sends eco-friendly fund raiser for rehoming centre
by MMC, 06-Sep-2010
Dogs Trust is mailing existing supporters with an appeal for funds to help the charity rebuild its Roden Rehoming Centre in Shropshire.
The mailpack explains that the rebuild will be a flagship building for the charity that will not only help dogs but be sustainable too with photovoltaic panels on the roof, a biomass boiler for its heating, and water recycling technology.
Created by Soho Square, the mailer opens with the headline ‘Our blueprint for their future’ and mixes architectural plans and drawings with images of dogs. The mailer itself is also made of eco-friendly materials, including recycled, chlorine-free paper and vegetable-based inks.
Adrian Burder, marketing director of Dogs Trust, comments: ‘Rehoming centres are the key to everything we do and this campaign highlights how we’re making Roden into a template for the charity’s future.
'We’re aiming to create the best possible facilities for the dogs that come into our care, combined with reducing our carbon ‘pawprint’. Soho Square has produced a mailer that neatly highlights the needs of the dogs and shows how the new Roden will be a shining example of canine care.’
The campaign targets cold donors from the charity’s database and launched mid-August.
