TDA creates localised ‘thank you’ for Cancer Research supporters

Cancer Research UK is hoping to deepen its relationships with supporters and inspire them to continue giving to the charity with a personalised campaign created by TDA.
The charity is sending its 900,000 supporters a booklet that focuses on the impact their donations have on its research. Using the theme of ‘Your Story’, it thanks supporters and takes each one through their own role in beating cancer. Content varies according to where supporters live to update them with stories and events in their own region, and to give the campaign a more local feel.
The booklet includes tales of hope, courage and breakthrough, and invites supporters to discover more at the Cancer Research UK website where TDA has created a special microsite, which supporters can also use to share their own cancer stories.
The campaign is TDA’s first piece of work for the charity since being appointed to its roster in June this year, and the booklet will replace the charity’s annual newsletter update.
‘We want our supporters to know what their money is doing, encouraging them to continue their support, and feel closer to us as an organisation,’ says Melanie Day, direct marketing specialist manager at Cancer Research UK. ‘This campaign is not about asking for donations, it’s our opportunity to thank our many supporters for what they’ve done to help beat cancer.’
